UAK-1 + is a new technology for especially cotton fibres
testing, selection, mixing and processing . Itru has developed
UAK-1 + Cotton Fibres Standards to classify the cotton into 5
categories according to most important parameters . This table
summarises the UAK-1 + Cotton Standards Parameters
Standards Class Standards Class Standards Class Standards Class Standards Class Neps/100-pixel-0,2 0-10 A 10--20 B 20-30 C 30-40 D 40> E YSI >11-< 15 E >15<20 D >20<22 C >22<26 B 26> A YEI 0-20 A >20< 35 B >35<50 C >50<100 D 100> E Presley g/tex >11<15

B Medium to long C Medium D Short E Count Range(Tex) <7 A >12 B >15 C 20 D >32 E Classification : Classification depends on the 12 parameters of total scoring . A=100 score,B=80 score,C=60 Score ,D=40 Score and E=20 Score
So total score is computed from these 12 parameters . Higher
the Total Score Value better the quality of the cotton.
Optimization of selection depends upon the end use . Yarn
Evenness Index and Class Lg could be taken as key parameters
along with Fibre Strength Presley 1/8 inch gauge. The usual
procedure
Hints of Fibre Mix Selection : 1- Find out the length category of the sample (A to E) 2- If two samples are in B example then look at the SFN %
3- Look at the Yarn Evenness Index for especially for knitting
end use 4- If they are similar then look at NLC % ,% of Yellow Fibres
and White Specks % 5- If you spin finer counts check Presley 1/8 inch gauge
strength and Mode Micronaire value. Fibre mix selection Pc-Program makes use of UAK-1 + test
results for optimum mixing according to the type of
process(carded, combed and rotor) , yarn count(Nec) and twist
(turns per inch).
The cotton samples are tested and classified into categories by Itru Fibre Tester UAK-1 +. This classification helps to improve make comparison between the samples and also making more homegenous blend for the processing. Two tests per sample is carried out . And 55 parameters are obtained. Cost per sample is 200 USD .
